CAHSE - Community Association of Historic St. Elmo
The Community Association of Historic St. Elmo (CAHSE), formerly the St. Elmo Improvement League, is one of the oldest neighborhood associations in the City of Chattanooga. In 1982, the neighborhood association played a key role in ensuring the National Register of Historic Places designation for St. Elmo and assisted in the development of the St. Elmo Historic District Design Review Guidelines that were adopted in 1992. In recent years, CAHSE has participated in many efforts to improve the neighborhood.
General CAHSE meetings take place on the first Monday of every month at CAHSE headquarters - the old firehall building at 4501 St. Elmo Ave. All residents are welcome and are encourage to try to make it to meetings whenever possible. Topics include current issues, ongoing initiatives, and frequently are attended by representatives from our local police precinct and our city and county commissioners, who are available to address questions or concerns.
